we got the chance to get away in july; timmy was in a desperate need of a break. he spent three days on his own before we took off to krabi!

the weather caught us by surprise. no one could tell I went for a beach holiday when I returned to work. no tan in sight.

despite the heavy rain, we hardly stayed in the hotel, thanks to the $2 raincoat. in between rains, we walked on the beach. other times we ate, got massaged, ate and walked and ate.

on the third day, the skies decided to chill and we headed to railey beach which was a 15mins long-tail boat ride away from aonang where we stayed. our original plan while in singapore was to do the island hopping tour but after experiencing the unpredictability of the heavy rain, we decided to just visit railey beach via boat for some adventure. it was dirt cheap (200 baht/person) considering the experience of the boat ride and the awesome waters.

I have never stayed in the sea for so long. of the five hours we were there, less than two were spent on lunch and walking. the water was cool and refreshing. the waves kept coming at us but not in a threatening way. if only the sun had made it’s appearance; I would have gotten a nice tan. but it decided to hide behind the clouds.
